Programs List Disappearing!

I'm trying out (test driving) the Zorin OS on a couple of my older computers. One is an old Gateway Windows XP system. Which took the OS just find and seems to be great.

Except for when I open the "software center" the program lists seem not show for a while and then they disappear/go blank when I hover over them!

What could it be?
