update to 14.04

I am running zorin 6.4 and my update keeps wanting to update to ubuntu 14.04. I really like zorin and need to ask about updating. Will this update take me to zorin 9, or ubuntu 14.04 only? Also if i update will it wipe all my info or just upgrade os? I've been told of the ghost thing in my distro and need to upgrade but this will be my first time changing os's in linux so any advise will be appreciated. and last will I be better off using update or a clean install?

yes it will update to Ubuntu 14.04 if you choose that method, use the following instructions after downloading a fresh copy of the Zorin 9 ISO:
