So I just installed Zorin OS because I like the look but can't seem to find a way to make the start button open the start menu in Zorin. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Hi,

when you say "Start Button"; I assume you mean the Windows key?. It doesn't work in Zorin unfortunately.

Or do you mean the Main Menu?. Have you run a full system update?:

The zorin menu and yes the window key. How can this OS claim to be a haven for Windows and first time Linux users if it lacks the most basic of familiarity to Windows? I have also just encountered a login loop that I cannot seem to resolve, login in flashes the screen black then open the login screen again,.

I have resolved both issues by installing Mint 17.1

You could have resolved it by downloading and installing GnoMenu!
