[SOLVED] "System Settings" missing most options

There are only 5 choices so things like Brightness are all missing.

How do I restore them?

Is this something that went missing recently? Did you do a full post install update as per Wolfman's guide?:

No, it wasn't recent but thanks for the link to Wolfman.
I used this commands:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
and all the options returned
