Problem with lxsession-default and Zorin OS 9 Lite

Hi everyone;

During the process of customising Zorin OS 9 Lite (this is an old Intel core 2 duo with 1Gb RAM) I have come across a bug that affects the LXDE Desktop.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1316832

I have implemented the fix outlined below:
https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-dev/+arc ... tu/staging

and can confirm the correct version of lxsession is installed and running, as per that page (lxsession - 0.4.9.2+git20140410-0ubuntu2).

Unfortunately, it has not resolved the problem (at least not completely). I discovered the problem when implementing the right-click desktop menu from http://lxlinux.com/openbox.html. The odd thing is *some* lxsession-default commands work, namely lxsession-default file_manager, lxsession-default terminal, and lxsession-default screenshot. But that would be about it: lxsession-default pdf_reader, lxsession-default audio_player, lxsession-default video_player, lxsession-default image_display etc. all cause the logout bug. if *nothing* worked it would make more sense to me, so this is confusing.

I've checked the files:
~/.config/lxsession/Zorin-OS-Lite/desktop.conf,
~/.config/lxsession/Lubuntu/desktop.conf and
~/.config/lxsession-default-apps/settings.conf.

... but am not really sure what needs to be done to correct the issue. I started by running lxsession-default pdf_reader in a terminal and was logged out, so I tried adding "pdf_reader/session=lubuntu" in both desktop.conf files above. Same problem. Then I changed to "pdf_reader/session=Zorin-OS-Lite". Same problem. Then I tried "pdf_reader/session=LXDE" (if no session is specified this is the default in Lubuntu, which is why I tried it as well). Same problem.

I'm asking here as Zorin places some config files in different locations and the patch fix actually works on a local install of Lubuntu 14.04, so I am hoping somebody more knowledgeable than myself about the intricacies of Zorin may have a suggestion.

As things currently stand I'm not too perturbed, as I have simply hardcoded the relevant apps into the desktop menu, and I am extremely happy with current performance of the overall system. On this machine I have tried several light distributions, including but not limited to LXLE, LXQT, Lubuntu, Xubuntu, Linux Mint XFCE, openSUSE, and Zorin is definitely the best (with some heavy tweaking, including adding data=writeback, and adjusting swap to 100 and NOT 10, as is often recommended), so congrats for a great distribution!!
