Ardour 3

Aloha!
I have downloaded the Digital Audio Workstation Ardour 3. It seems to identify my interface (AudioBox 1818 VSL) but I cant't open a session. When I click „apply“ in Audio/MIDI settings a pop-up window says: „I couldn't connect to Audio/MIDI engine.“ In german. This is my translation. Please excuse my mediocre English. When I click „ok“ it's the same.
When I click „calibrate“ (refers to hardware input latency and hardware output latency) it says: „ Your selected audio configuration is playback- or capture-only. Latency calibration requires playback and capture.“ What can I do?
