Cannot access the Software Updater "Settings" 2

I can't access synaptic manager, and software updater settings either, and i cant search for updates with it either, i must do it through the console.

Hi, do you get a warning about missing or non-recognised PPA's? This happened to me initially after installing Multi-System for updates for a couple of times but after that it stabilised - if you install 'non-approved' 3rd party software or have the relevant PPA installed this results in being left to commands via the Terminal window. ;) :D
