Mount Drive / Partition clarification please.

Alright, I'm finding Zorin to be considerably different from any other Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, Xubuntu, Mate) that I've been using for the past 6 years. Really like Zorin though, but want to make sure that I don't mess anything up. To me a lot of Zorin feels like it's "etched in stone" with little of the flexibility that I've gotten used to with XFCE for example. With that said ...

... I'd like to know how I can have another Ext4 drive or partition auto-mounted and ready for use, directly after logging in to Zorin? The drive is already recognized automatically by default after logging in, it's just not mounted yet. In the past I'd simply edit the FSTAB and voila, drive is mounted and working with every login. Problem (not a big one) with Zorin is that some of the file and folder paths differ from what I'm used to. I did find the drives app, jut like in Mint or XFCE, but that just recognizes the drive automatically. It doesn't actually cause the drive to be mounted after logging in.
So how do I auto-mount with Zorin, and if that's not possible, where do I edit the FSTAB file?

Dconf Editor > Org > Gnome > Desktop > Media-Handling > Automount/Automount-open/Autorun Never

Hi, Go to Menu | System Tools | Administration | Software Updater.

Next, after it has whizzed through everything, click on 'Settings' button.

On the first tab, change the server for packages to 'Main Server' then on next tab, uncheck any duplicate 'sources'.

Personally, I don't use Chromium so I delete any reference to Google in here and on the 'authentications' tab.

(dl.google).

This should reduce some of those messages you get!

Hi,

the PPA you are trying to add doesn't exist for Ubuntu Tweak for Vivid (Zorin 10) that I am aware of?, the only PPA you can add (that I can find on Launchpad) is for "Trusty" (Zorin 9), you can try adding that and see what happens.

The other option is to simply download the latest ".deb" package listed on their website and install it using "Gdebi":

To run Ubuntu Tweak, open a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + t) and type the following:

ubuntu-tweak

Right click the icon in the panel (once running) and "Pin application" if you want UT in your panel!.

To install Gdebi via the terminal (Ctrl + Alt + t):

sudo apt-get install gdebi

To remove duplicate PPA'S, use the following terminal (Ctrl + Alt + t) command or remove them manually as per Swarf's suggestion:

sudo rm -r /var/lib/apt/lists/*

Then run:

Thanks again, everyone. The help here is incredible. I finally have an up to date Zorin setup! Still having problems with the auto-mount though. Had no problem finding it with Dconf Editor and both spaces were already checked to begin with. As mentioned before, the drive is definitely recognized and there, waiting to be used ... but needs to be mounted by clicking on it. The Auto-Run Never box is *NOT* checked and it looks to me like that would be correct? Sometimes true & false appear to provide mixed statements though when "ON" or "OFF" would be more explanatory.

I don't use chrome either so I removed both of those settings as well.

Thanks. I had already set up my fstab file like I usually do. That post helped explain why the drive was ready for use without actually being mounted, so that was good. Due to my 18 years of Windoze use I've been in the habit for years and years of keeping all important data such as Docs, Pics, Music, Email, etc. on a completely different drive and/or partition. I also have my file manager open up by default when the system starts up ... so I really need to have those paths mounted right from the first moment. Otherwise, if I do an email check I'll get errors and none of my emails will appear on the screen ...
