ZorinOS, my computer and 3 three monitors

Hi all,

I have a computer that I have 3 monitors connected. Two monitors are connected to an NVIDIA Gforce 740 add in card that has 2Gb of video memory on board, and the 3rd is connected to the built in NVIDIA Gforce 430 circuitry that is built in on the MOBO. They all work using windows, but with Linux only the 2 qattached to the add in card work. [I am a registered user of Zorin OS and have purchased 2 versions. OS 9 (upgraded to 9.1) and OS 10, the Business version]. The two connected to the add in card work and are the default. The 3rd, if I turn it off and on several times you can see the same background as on the other two, but the screen quickly goes dark (you can still see the image but it isn't readable). I have a 500+ power supply installed in the computer. 4 Gb memory and a 2.7 Ghz dual core processor. I have it dual boot with two separate hard drives, each with it's own OS. Windows and Zorin. If I take out the add in card, Zorin works with the MOBO video, but that defeats my purpose. I use all three monitors.

In the "displays" section of system settings, when I turn on the 3rd monitor, the screen goes grey and seems to hang for a few minutes.Eventually everything operates again, but with the above problem.

Does anyone here know if there is a video driver that Zorin will work with for the Gforce 430 and the Gforce 740?

Hi, are you currently using the default 'nouveau' GNU/Linux drivers? Also have you installed 'randr'?

Don't know if this helps?:

I did a clean install. Whatever Zorin installs is what I have. I am relatively new to Zorin, aka. Linux, but I will do what you suggested. What I have seen of Linux is that it is temperamental and I am just worried that if I add something that Zorin doesn't like, it will blow my whole install (this has happened multiple times, especially because of COMPIZ), but I like Linux. I have become bored with Windows and the constant maintenance needed (scanning for virus, malware, root-kits, registry errors, hard disk de-fragmentation). I like the fact that Linux is like a RONCO. Kitchen appliance (you set it and forget it).

Sounds like you have the same graphics card I have on my machine. [ Geforce GTX 750 Ti ]
Just for reference :
IF I remember right......
Not long ago...I was playing around with W10/ZOS9
I used the HDMI <> Black DVI <> White DVI
All three monitors worked !!!!
Connection from the card each individual monitor !!!!
HDMI = HDMI Cable
Black DVI = White DVI Cable
White DVI = DVI to VGA Connector = VGA Cable
