Hello-
this is not a big deal but whenever I type one of these symbols, the other goes to the screen. I am a relative newbie to Zorin and have no idea where to look for a remedy. FWIW, it is an old Dell Optiplex 745 PC with Dell keyboard

Hi, you need to update your Language settings to the language you use - US and UK keyboards have opposite keys to the ones you listed. Check out Wolfman's Post Install Guides - the first global item on the forum. ;) :D

Also, please be advised that the How-to section is for sharing tutorials, not questions! ;) :D
