No Microphone Input in Zorin OS 9

I just installed zorin os a fouple of days ago and find that it's more reliable and easier to use than most. But I have one problem... My Microphone won't pick up any sound. I have a laptop with a built in mic jack and an internal mic as well. I want to use the internal one for convenience sake. I'm using audacity and, no, I didn't accidentally use the audio jack as the main input device. I would really like this fixed so any help will be appreciate. I've already tried to remove pulse audio via terminal and reinstalled it but it ruined my last installation of zorin os 9. Thanks!
