Dumb question about Zorin 10 desktop

Okay, so I'm using Zorin 10, 64-bit. The panel on the Win7-like look is nice. Which panel is it? Is it AWN? Can I add applets to it? A bit confused. Thanks.

Hi, it is indeed AWN but themed by Team Zorin. To add an applet (application launcher?) Just launch a Program from the Menu then right-click the icon that appeas at launch time and select - 'make it a launcher'. ;) :D

Thanks. Doesn't always work -- sometimes you have to create a custom launcher, even with standard apps like Thunderbird. IMHO, it should be easier. My main concern is the non-working weather app. Really cripples my Zorin desktop.

Thanks!

Hi, I went back to installing the old weather app on GnoMenu - this works - until you update the system! :(

If you want a weather app that will work, install Cairo-Dock DE:

download/file.php?id=3356&mode=view

You need to find your weather code for where you live:

http://docs.rainmeter.net/tips/webparse ... tion-code/ and enter in teh configuration for that applet.

Or try Cinnamon DE - not tried adding weather to this from memory:

download/file.php?id=4369&mode=view

[UPDATE: Had to download the Weather applet for Cinammon - easy peasy!:
