GnoMenu repeating entries and other items

Hi all,

Just installed Zorin OS5 as only OS on my eeepc 1005P netbook after Windows crashed and could not repair.

Generally ok but couple of issues that you might be able to help me with.

1. Cannot link to network Epson DX5050 printer connected via wireless network, printer connected to Windows 7 pc. Do I need to load linux epson drivers onto the netbook.

2. Cannot get built in web cam to work. Not recognised in hardware listing

3. GnoMenu sometimes displays a double listing of items, games will display twice, same with Wine etc. Just wondered if anyone else had seen same problem and know of possible fix.

Hi,

for the webcam problem read this and install "cheese" to check your camera:

For your printer:

For the other problem, make sure your system is up to date and that the graphic card drivers are installed!!.

Hi guys and thanks for getting back to me.

Update:-

Webcam proven to be working OK using Cheese,
Issue with repeating items on GnoMenu noted.
Still cannot get network printer working, downloaded lnux driver and installed them to see if that helped. I can see the Epson printer on the wondows pc using SAMBA but it will not connect. Error something about CISF file.

I can connect to the printer directly via usb port so might have to just stay with that for now
