klock runs behind

Hey good day,

On the Dutch Zorin forum I got a question I can not answer, I hope you can help.
It relates to the time that runs behind.
He has a dual bootable system with Windows 7 and Zorin 9 Core.
The CMOS battery has been replaced with a new one, but the time keeps running behind.
It has been noticed that when idle (mouse and keyboard), the time stands still.
Once again there is activity (keyboard and mouse) time recovered but not quite.
After a while the time is running five minutes behind.

What could be the problem in this case and what should we do to solve this problem?

Not time to read the thread entirely (and earlier version of Ubuntu) but does it help?

Hi Swarfendor437,
Unfortunately no avail that solution.
The person in question has meanwhile made a fresh install of Zorin OS 9 Core.
But sadly enough there remains the issue.
As long as he's keyboard or mouse uses the time continues to run well but as soon as he passes the time runs slower or even stop running.
Now he has made a new installation, I am convinced that there is something wrong between the machine and the OS, in the form of a faulty driver or the like.
