Flirc IR USB receiver.
To install the Flirc gui;

I am experimenting with Zorin as HTPC, the Flirc gui would not install as the script failed to identify the OS

copy os-release file to os-release.old
overwrite the /etc/os-release file with:
NAME="Ubuntu"
VERSION="18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver)"
ID=ubuntu
ID_LIKE=debian
PRETTY_NAME="Ubuntu 18.04 LTS"
VERSION_ID="18.04"
HOME_URL="https://www.ubuntu.com/"
SUPPORT_URL="https://help.ubuntu.com/"
BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/"
PRIVACY_POLICY_URL="https://www.ubuntu.com/legal/terms-and-policies/privacy-policy"
VERSION_CODENAME=bionic
UBUNTU_CODENAME=bionic

Then restore the os-release

Many thanks for this - it will help others having issues that are looking for Ubuntu before it will install. madvinegar posted similar advice for earlier versions of ZorinOS for other applications that were dependent upon seeing the name of Ubuntu. 120 blue jewels to you sir! ;) :D

The continuing saga of a FLIRC HTPC
I've moved the PC a Asrock mini itx passively cooled intel i3T in a Streacom case, to the living room TV
and Zorin is doing a good job of the desktop and Kodi.
Now I want CEC to work. Pulse-eight CEC adapter plugged up and Kodi can't talk to it; doh!
access denied to /dev/ttyACM0 ok add the user to dialout doh! again no dialout group.

sudo update-passwd
sudo adduser telly dialout

now we can talk to the adapter

bonne chance...S
