Hi,
if you want/don't want Automount for your drives:
Ubuntu 11.04 and below using gconf editor:
Press Alt + F2 and type "gconf-editor" and then check: > apps > nautilus > preferences > "media_automount" and "media_automount_open" are enabled.
Ubuntu 11.10 and above with dconf editor:
Press Alt + F2 and type "dconf-editor" and then check: > org > gnome > desktop > media-handling.
Dconf editor (the package "dconf-tools" must be installed) is the newer configuration editor for Gnome!!.
