This sticky is very useful.
I will explain an easy way to add the "create launcher" option on the nautilus menu.
1) First of all you need to install ubuntu-tweak.
To do this go here: http://ubuntu-tweak.com/ and download the deb file and install it.
2) Once ubuntu tweak is installed open it and navigate to: admins>scripts
You will see two vertical lists. One on the left side saying "enabled scripts" and one on the right side saying "disabled scripts".
3) On the list with the "disabled scripts" scroll down to find the option that says "create launcher". Now click on it and drag and drop it on the left side i.e. on the "enabled scripts" list.
Exit, and from now on when you right click on your desktop you will get the option scripts>create launcher.
