XBMC Media Center 12 Frodo Stable >>>Is finally out for download !!!

1. Remove/All from Synaptic Package Manager >>>Completely<<< XBMC 11.0 Eden
Note : Only Premium Versions Came with XBMC Media Center.

2. Open Terminal > Copy/Paste

: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa

: sudo apt-get update

: sudo apt-get install xbmc

3. Your Finished

I just installed Zorin 6.1 lite on my laptop so that I could try out the new XBMC 12.0. I am sorry to ask such a noob question, but could someone tell me how to Remove/All in Synaptic Package Manager?

* First, I opened Synaptic Package Manager.
* Then, I searched for "XBMC."
* Last, I looked for a remove or delete but I could not find anything to remove them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That version doesn't have XBMC on it. So that excludes yourself !!!
Just follow the directions and you'll be good to go.
Except the removal of XBMC 11.0 Eden

XBMC has a lot of Gizmos so you have to play around a little to get used to it.
Then once you know a little about XBMC we can help you out with any configuration if needed.

I have followed your excellent directions and I am happy to say that XBMC is installed working perfectly.

For anyone else reading this that may profit from my install experience:
I have a small amount of install space, I was able to install the operating system and XBMC 12.0 Frodo on my meager 4GB internal SSD. My laptop is the original Asus Eee PC 4G Surf Celeron M 900MHz 512MB 4GB SSD 7-Inch netbook. I wanted to set it up to play my daughters movies over my home network via XBMC 12.0. Everything works, and I was able to set it up in no time thanks to the rapid assistance of this forum.

Why I am using Zorin:
Small drive space combined with the non-PAE system put a huge limit on choices of which operating system to install. Ubuntu/Mint no longer has a non-PAE friendly kernel that would work with my non-PAE netbook. Windows XP SP3 cannot fit onto 4GB. Any other system that would have installed onto my netbooks 4GB drive does not yet offer an easy user friendly install of just released XBMC 12.0 Frodo. I am pleasantly surprised that Zorin 6.1 Lite was able to fit my need. To have support from a forum to install this goes a long way in making a user experience work. As you can read from my posts in this thread, the Zorin community is alive and well to back up its user base.

Sharing with SAMBA:
I have not tested Zorin Lite since a year ago. Then, I could not view SAMBA shares on my network. So I turned away from Zorin and remained with Macpup and Linux Mint. I am happy to report that immediately after my fresh install of Zorin 6.1 Lite just now, navigating to my SAMBA shared drives worked with default settings. I did not have to do a single thing. It just worked. NICE!!!

Zorin is ready and complete. Zorin has reached maturity and fully receives my endorsement. I will happily recommend to my friends and coworkers the wonderful operating system and community of Zorin.
