The newest Cinnamon 2.4 is a [ nightly ] { PPA } !!~!!
And yes it is safe enough to use on ZOS 9 Ultimate/Core. :D :D
It took me less than 10 minutes to conjure the desktop in the screenshots below !!!!

Great job Gizmuntu! If I had that as my desktop I'd want to put burred walnut case on my monitor to finish it off - a la steam punk style - nice! :D
