Hello, I have Zorin OS 9 Ultimate fresh installed. After the first update and restarting it showed filesystem errors like ext4 inode. What please happened there? My external harddisk is new and there`s space enough, 1 TB. Could me please tell me someone why this could happen? Thank you everybody for help.

Hi, did you check if your external drive was preformatted to NTFS? This could be why you are gettng inode errors - but I admit I am just guessing here. What brand of external drive?

My new harddisk is a WD Elements 1 TB. Of course it was preformattet in NTFS. Now I have deleted Zorin OS 9 Ultimate, and installed instead Peppermint OS, which is working since days without any problem. I believe it's not depending on a NTFS preformated harddisk, it is problem of Zorin OS. I installed it on another harddisk and the problems are the same. They come after the first update, without update there are no problems. Now I'm angry to have payed money for a operating system, which seems to be not ready to use.

I am aware that other users on this forum have managed to install to an external drive without major issues such as the ones you are experiencing - please take some time to search this forum.

;)
