Hello everyone,
today I tried to install Zorin OS, but it stucks EVERYTIME on the boot logo. I removed the "quiet splash" Line to find the error.
I took some photos, because I can´t find the cause of this error. I tried many USB sticks and many programms (UNetbootin and Rufus)

My preferred method of installation is from the live desktop and not directly at 'boot' time of the live media - it also gives you a chance to see how it will run on your machine - at boot up you should see 'little man = keyboard' - press Escape key when you see that and you will get the 'F2 Language' screen - change to your preferred Locale (not sure if your language is supported at point of installation). Use your arrow keys on the keboard (cursor keys) or mouse to select your language then press Escape key. Then Press F3 key on your keyboard and select your keyboard language. Choose your matching keyboard language (if available) then press Escape key and then Press F6 and select all of the following items:

Keep us posted. ;) :D

Hey
I tried your method but it still stucks on the splash screen. However, if I remove the quiet splash option, it will boot to the black log in page (like my first picture) and I can login with the username zorin, but there is no graphical interface.

Hey Swarfendor437,
before I post some more information, I want to thank you for your help.

Soooo, like I explained, I can boot in "Text mode" to the login:

I can even log in:

I took some pictures, when the computer started up:

.

But if I try your options AND quiet splash is still active, the glowing Logo appears for 5 to 8 seconds and then it freezes. Without quiet splash and without your options, it got errors (see picture 2 in my first post).

Here are some specs of my PC:

Modell: HP Pavillion 15 E073SG
CPU: 2,6-GHz-Intel Core i5-3230M-Prozessor
Graphic Card: Intel HD 4000 / AMD Radeon HD 8670m
Storage: 500 GB Crucial SSD
RAM: 16 GB
Network: Realtek PCIe Family cotroller

If you need more information, you can answer every time.
And I know I said that in the beginning: Thank you ^^

Can you boot into BIOS and switch to legacy mode?

I already boot in legacy mode. Secure Boot is deactivated. I already have windows 7 (not UEFI) installed.

OK, could you please boot into Windows and upload a screen shot of your Disk Management window to indicate number of partitions and their type. Thanks. ;)

OK, just needed to check that you have less than 4 Primary Partitions, which clearly you have as sometimes even live OS's can baulk. Now for clarity, are you just trying to boot into live mode or are you attempting to run the installer? ;) :D

Yes, I booted in Live Mode. I was able to log in only in Live mode ^^

Hey,
I think I found sonething out. I downloaded zorin os 11 from sourceforge. With this version (11) i can access the live desktop.

Now I ask me: Why does it not boot in Zorin OS 12...

It could be down to the fact that Zorin 11 used an earlier GNU/Linux kernel and drivers. Take a look here as a possible solution to your primary issue:

For now, I will try out zorin os 11 (perfomance, usability etc.) But thank you for your help. Maybe in some time I will try it again with OS 12 ^^

Please be advised that Zorin 11 is no longer supported as it was a development release similar to the Ubuntu version on which it was released (I was hoping it would have become an updated 12, but not to be, but I can see why). So be aware there are no security updates for Zorin 11. :o

Hey,
I tried the Zorin OS 12.0 Release and it runs fine too.
Next time I will try 12.1 . Very weird, that Zorin 12.2 is not working

Hi, If you install the version that is stable for you, then eventually you will get a roll up to 12.2 as Zorin 12 is the first version of Zorin that will automatically update to the next version without needing to reinstall, it is the first rolling release by Zorin. ;) :D
