Looking to install on a x1 extreme

Hi,

I am looking to install Zorin on a new thinkpad x1 extreme, I currently have archlinux and the most difficulties I have are with multi monitor setup.

The problem steams from the fact that the usb-c ports and hdmi are linked to the discret video card than needs to be activated in order to output on that port.

So do you guys have experience with installing zorin on a x1 extreme or a laptop with nvidia discret card?

Hi, Take a look at this guide for ubuntu 18.04.2 on which Zorin 15 is based on:

and here:

Thanks for the reply, I've ended up trying the install myself, had 2 issues one of them was a showstopper:

- booting with the default option results in weird graphics and system freeze, had to REISUB out of it
- safe graphics booting works but the install freezes after the 4'th step (after selecting to install additional software sources)

Arch for me for some time.

Well, it's like I have stated in the unofficial manual, for a good experience you have to look at purchasing GNU/Linux friendly hardware:

and eventually!:

Yeah, makes sens, is always tricky to the right balance of viable hardware and good linux compatibility. Will keep an eye on this distro looks very promising.
