NVIDIA install

I really did try to use the search facility on this forum to answer my own question, but must be a little short of braincells because I can't get it to work at all. I have successfully installed Zorin 15 Ultimate on my new rig (on the terabyte drive) and this morning went to tackle the NVIDIA discreet graphics install. The selection panel offers me a Nvidia driver ending -440 (open source), -435 (proprietary) and some other item x.org. Instructions on Zorin website are to download/install the latest proprietary driver but their example panel indicates "latest" as being the one with the highest number. So, should it be 440 or 435?

Hi, Take a look here:

https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/n ... -04/111298

Notice that there is mention of 'no install candidate' - this could be down to the fact that it can't 'see' the card (hybrid) OR it is looking for specific ID of OS - so a fork of ubuntu like Zorin is recognised as Zorin and not Ubuntu - there is a method to change the 'ID' of the OS - will try and find the post. ;) :D

Weird, I found a rename solution on line and edited original response only to find this evening ... not there!

Just as well - this does it better:
