is it possible to run zorin 15 on this mac?

I've installed zorin 15 on a friends mac. Installed not in dual boot. Used entire disk.
Now he can only boot zorin in recovery mode. He can use it but the gpu is not working and mac is getting really hot. But CPU in system monitor isn't getting to 100%. Seems normal. In normal boot some UMD Device errors appear and screen is black.

I think the main issue you have is the graphics driver:

and there doesn't appear to be a readily available solution. Also I would have gone for Zorin Lite as opposed to Core on the specifications you have provided.
