Hi Fellow Zoriners,

Well I am pleased to say that I have re-located my introductory guide to UEFI (secure boot) that I uploaded some time ago that mysteriously disappeared recently! ;)

You will need to download the above, extract using archive manager, and view with 'document viewer' or 'acrobat reader' if you prefer.

Now for some updated information. This is where you should look in respect of a Samsung Series 9 Ultrabook; and who knows, this might apply to Samsung Notebooks across the board:

Remember, you need to press F2 to get into the BIOS settings as soon as you boot a Samsung!
The sequence of shots above are not necessarily in order - and it is not GNU/Linux that this baby caused a headache - it was being downgraded to Windows 7 Enterprise and the technician told me it had been a real struggle - so don't think it is going to be easy, but at least now you know 'where to look'!

Hi,

try this:

Bear in mind that apart from booting from a different medium, the installation process is almost the same as from a CD/DVD.

If you mean installing via usb to install to replace 8 (you can't have both without keep altering the BIOS at each boot):

1. Change boot order first while UEFI is active

2. Enable legacy mode

(Just found this out on an Acer Netbook at work!)
