Not so lookalike; video chat is missing, that's what I like most with YM.

It's hard to find a messenger that does video chat in Linux...Pidgin is a great multi-messenger (does all the various ims like yahoo, msn, aol, etc..) but doesn't do video chat...The only way you can install the actual Yahoo messenger would be using "wine" or "play on linux"...how well it will work is hard to say...you would have to try it and see...

Unfortunately yahoo doesn't make a linux version...only windows and mac...

For Yahoo user; There is now Yahoo Messenger for the web on beta, no need to install on your hard drive, just bookmarks it on your browser.

For your info, Yahoo will not be making a messenger for Linux, I chatted with someone from their dev team a few days ago. I use Skype now which works on both Linux and Windows!!.

it might be the version problem, if the one you're using doesn't work, try this: MultiYahoo!Messenger 9 download. i'm using it.

Just found out that gyachi now has webcam support!!. I have not been able to try it out yet; to see how good it is!.
