new to linux
using zorin core 5
i installed on my inspirion M5030,
now after loggin on, it shows a blue blank screen
i observed that there are gnome options just at the bottom of the screen,
i changed it to safemode > gnome (safemode), from gnome(classic)
and i could view my desktop, files and folders.

is this normal ?, would i have to change the gnome to safemode all the time ( sounds like somethings would definitely be disabled)

also during installation, i didnt see any option to set the size for swap or ,/ directory

Was this a clean install, or did you write over another OS but not format the "/home" partition??. If you had another OS on the drive, there could well be conflicting files in the /home folder!!.

i installed alongside win 7
what i did of recent, is instead of using gnome (safemode) at logon, i use classic (without effect)
and its been fine.

i guess thats normal right ?

can you right click on the background do you get a menu to come up ?

if so do the following

click add panel
right click on panel > click add to panel
click Menu Bar ( A custom menu bar)

then click System > Preferences > Look changer > windows 7 > ok
reboot

try that =] let us know how it goes
