Ghost entries on desktop?

I have been doing some research involving looking at an .iso on a DVD of Print Artist 6 - and recovered some .DLLs to work on issues I have with Print Artist 4 on my Windows XP machine.

On restarting today, I find, on my desktop, both an icon for my CD drive and one for Print Artst 6.iso. They are both are resisting being sent to the recycle bin.

How can I remove them to get a little more space on my desktop, please?

The ghost entries are still there. I thnk I will connect an actual usb stick and see if it chases the "Ghosts" away. Perhaps another CD.

They seem to be left over from a previous usb stick and previous CD - weird!.

Hi Finston, I haven't been ignoring you - just not found solution yet! ;)

I would try using the Zorin look changer change to a different look and see what happens, if it goes away.

can you provide the output of the following commands
Code:
sudo cat /etc/fstab
sudo mount
