Hi amicus,

one presses "Alt+F2" then one types "gksudo nautilus" assuming you want to do something in Nautilus!!. You cannot log in as "root" in Ubuntu based systems if that is what you mean!!.

I found it interesting to be able to utilize both Windows and Linux in the same OS, so I downloaded ZorinOS 5.2...

Now, I'm trying to install a few Linux programs, but I can't find the ROOT password that SUDO is asking for; I tried the password I set up for my personal account, but that doesn't work. Could someone supply me with the default ROOT password or point me into the direction of someone who can help can help.

In terminal write:

sudo passwd

give your personal account password

then enter a unix password
give it again (confirm it)

and you are done.

After that, each time you need root acces to terminal write su and give your unix password.
