Bluetooth mouse

My Jetech bluetooth mouse doesn't work with Zorin OS. The BT page finds it for about a second, it flashes "Bluetooth mouse not set-up" several times then nothing.
The mouse has no markings of model etc. So I'm guessing its going to be a pain to sort.
Can anyone suggest a basic BT mouse that will work out of the box please?

Thanks, I followed all the instructions to the letter. Unfortunately it made no difference.
When I click "search" in the Bluetooth manager it flashes the mac address of the mouse and the word "pointing" about once a second but it never stays in the list. :(

Thanks but that wouldn't help. The reason I want to use a Bluetooth mouse is because of the shortage of USB ports on the laptop,

Hi
let's try again
disconnect first your BT mouse under 'settings' , restart your pc and commence undernoted instructions to bear any fruit :)

Does your Bluetooth mouse have a 'connect' button? Try removing the batteries and reinsert and press the 'connect button after turning on Bluetooth in Zorin.

I cannot disconnect my mouse under "settings" as it is not listed. As I say, it is detected then lost once a second...

Is there any way you can temporarily boot Zorin with a corded mouse, then 'apply' the bluetooth mouse? I had to do this once when installing Dream Linux on a desktop that had wireless keyboard and mouse. ;) :D

Hi floatingshed

kindly let us know on your doings with your stubborn mouse is going (before throwing away)

in a nutshell undernoted comes from the 'help' in Zorin OS

Bluetooth is a wireless protocol that allows you to connect many different types of devices to your computer. Bluetooth is commonly used for headsets and input devices like mice and keyboards. You can also use Bluetooth to send files between devices, such as from your computer to your cell phone.
*Turn Bluetooth on or off
Enable or disable the Bluetooth device on your computer.
*Connect your computer to a Bluetooth device
Pair Bluetooth devices.
*Control sharing over Bluetooth
Allow files to be uploaded to your computer over Bluetooth.
*Disconnect a Bluetooth device
Remove a device from the list of Bluetooth devices.
*Send files to a Bluetooth device
Share files to Bluetooth devices such as your phone.
*What is Bluetooth visibility?
Whether other devices can discover your computer.
*Problems
*I cannot connect my Bluetooth device
The adapter could be turned off or may not have drivers, or Bluetooth might be disabled or blocked.

good luck

Nothing has changed. Everything fails to improve the situation.
The mouse is detected, then it isn't, then it is, then it isn't, then it is, then it isn't......
This goes on for ages, about once a second. It is never detected for long enough to click setup.
