USB flashdrive/pendrive unrecognizable

Hello everybody , I need kind of urgent help, yesterday night while trying to put several ISOs (linux and windows ) in my pendrive (16GB), I formated it with gparted in fat32, as I was working with YUMI since Multisystem doesn't allowed several Windows images, but I got an error (I worked with YUMI from my Windows7 Oracle Virtual Box machine), so I tried YUMI from Linux following a tutorial

which said I should format my pendrive with this
Code:
mkfs.vfat -F 32 -n MULTIBOOT /dev/sdc1
, after this my drive is lost, linux (both Zorin and Linux mint) doesn't recognize it.

So I took another computer that runs with Windows 10 and the unit is shown for a very short time, It isn't show in "MY PC" but it is in "devices" and in "quit safe" in the Task bar.

I have contact the warranty , but today is sunday....

this is the result I got when I do
Code:
dmeseg
in Terminal: (this result shown here is only referenced to the USBpendrive)

Code:

It isn't shown neither in "disk" neither in "gparted". I got this device new in february this year, after changing another same one to the seller because It also got broken after creating two partitions with gparted . Here I think it is almost the same case because a couple of years back I tried creating to partitions, but in theory that shouldn't cause a problem, should it?

Here I left you some pics from the windows10 computer

With the USB stick inserted, I used:

sudo mkdosfs /dev/sdc1 -s 16 -F 32

from the command line.

Worked for me - try at your own risk.

I also had these extra commands noted in my "formatting 64 G USB stick to FAT32" notes gleamed from the internet, but with not much knowledge on my part (and I have never tried the latter two lines - the first one works for me):

sudo mkdosfs /dev/sdc1 -s 16 -F 32

getfacl /media/ubuntu

sudo setfacl -m u:ubuntu:rx /media/ubuntu

It could be worth a punt.

I'm having an issue with an 8 Gb stick - I am using Disks to format it:

Hi I cannot format since it isn't shown in
Code:
lsblk
dispite the result I show in the pictures above (dmeseg), in a way the sistem reads it, but with error... and itsn't shown as a /dev

How do I "[ 185.636089] usb 1-1.1: reset high-speed USB device number 5 using ehci-pci" ? :?:

Regarding yours , isn't gparted better to do it?

Update - I used Disks to slow format with zeroes, then used GParted to format to FAT32 - sorted! ;) :D

Cool!.
Do you think my device is dead?

If you can't get results following the same procedure I use then, yes, it could be dead. Remember a flash disk uses the same technology as SSD - the more you write to it, the shorter its life. ;)

Hello, I wass shure I have replied earlier , but it seems I quit the page withoug saving... The unit was new, and I only used it for savin ISO (live usb) , this is the second time I have this issue, and I think this happen when I partitioned the unit in two, with gparted and shrink one of the partitions... the same hapenned to me earlier this year with another unit of the same brand. It is called ADATA Classic 16 GB.
Could I have broken it because of this procedure?

Today I gave the unit to the seller so he can take it to producer to apply the warranty, and they will change it.
But I think this is not the solution, the day my seller moves or ceases to exist, my warranty ceases as well.

It is possible to do that - a forum member posted something during Zorin 9 being the LTS so should be the same. Will search and post back. ;)

Hi there, have good news. I took the usb pendrive to the seller and once again they will give me a new one, free of charge, this according to ADATA warranty, they didn't tell me what the problem was.

I must be honest with you , in order to ask for your opinions, since this is the second time it happens to me this with this same model . I partitioned it with gparted, the rearranged the size with the same app, after that it got broken, are pendrives ment to be partioned.?

If I have to partitions will they be booth readable and booteable, if I put different ISO with "multisystem", I want my first partion to have Linux ISO and a windows ISO , and the secon partiton another windows (10) ISO, this is because multysistem allows only to add one windows imagge, and this is under the name "system " or something like that.

Never ever buy a flash drive off of Ebay. Most sellers are corrupt, and there is a huge industry in selling fraudulent flash drives, its been a common thing going on for over 10-years. Only buy your flash drives off of Newegg, Newegg is the one of the most trusted sources for buying computer components, and I've personally been using them for years with huge success. I buy all of my flash drives there and never had a problem. Also, another thing is, I only buy name brand flash drives, I usually buy Sandisk. I own a Sandisk 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB drives. And then with SSD drives for internal hard drives, I go with Samsung.

Hi star treker, pcfan5 is based in South America - so may be limited as to what and where kit can be bought. ;)

@pcfan5 - The only brands I would consider in respect of thumb drives are: integral, Patriot, Sandisk.
