Hallo, everyone
Reposting here from the 'How To' forum at a moderator's request.......

I continue to use a two-PC set-up - a Linux laptop as my online portal, and an older Win XP desktop offline as my music/administrative option. So I make a good deal of use of USB sticks, and I would like to tweak my Linux appearance settings so that 'folders' are more sharply different from 'files'.
The ideal option would be if it were possible to set all folder icons to be a different colour from file icons.

I have found one lot of settings, but they seem to apply to individual folders, not to all folders as a class.
I also imagine this may also involve 'themes', and those to which I have immediate access seem to be tri-colored - ie white background, default black fonts, and a single colour trim, which does express itself in the folder/file icons.

The simpler the solution, the better !
Many thanks

Hi

it would be nice if you remind us on your version of Zorin OS
at least in Zorin ultimate 12.4 you can alter the individual folders in using 13 different colours (not files)

perhaps undernoted can help out your way forward
