Hi,

i tried to install Zorin 12.4 Core 64 bit on my old MacBook Pro (Version A1226) via USB Stick.

it coughs up these messages and halts:

Couldn’t get size: 0x800000000000000e
MODSIGN: Couldn’t get UEFI db list
Couldn’t get size: 0x800000000000000

Any idea how to fix it? Did i use the wrong ISO file or is the hardware too old maybe?

Kind regards,
alamar

Hi

I have no experience with a fruit laptop but try to enter the firmware similar to the pc BIOS.
To access your MacBook's Open Firmware, you must first shut off your computer. Then turn it back on, holding down the “Command,” “Option,” “0” and “F” keys simultaneously as the machine boots to access the Open Firmware interface.

Change setting in the BIOS from [Customized] to [Standard] for Secure Boot Mode.
Security -> Secure Boot -> Secure Boot Mode -> [Standard]

In simple words deactivate UEFI and Secure Boot, then try again
Please advise if any progress.

You should also use rEFInd which is an updated version of a now defunct project rEFIt.
