Configuring the Overview

Hi! I'm new here. I recently did a lot of distro hopping to find an OS for my new laptop, and my two favorite current distros are definitely Zorin OS and Pop!_OS. I like Zorin's theming better, and the fact that you can configure one-click access both to the Overview and the App Launcher, so I've settled on it.

The one thing I'd like to change about Zorin OS is to have the multitasking bar to show up fully onscreen in the Overview, the way it does in Pop!_OS, instead of sliding in and out at the right of the screen. I've uploaded two screenshots: Overview Current shows what I see when I open the Overview; Overview Desired shows what I wish to see.

Can anyone tell me how to configure what I want?

You can try a Gnome Extension here:
https://extensions.gnome.org/
You will find "Workspace Grid" and "Workspaces to Dock" and various other helpful extensions for such customization tasks.

I do not use that feature nor am I using Zorin 15 (I am on Zorin 12.4) so I am not sure if this will work... But from your Settings, if you go to Dock, then switch the Intelligent Auto-hide to "Off" - I wonder if the Intelligent Auto-Hide effects both sides of the screen- the Activities Overview and well as the Dock. I respond since a bit of time has passed since you asked and I figure some answer is better than no answer.

With Gnome Tweak tool
Code:
sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool

Go to Extensions, then scroll to Dock.

Swarf, does your activities overview auto hide and re-appear when you hover over it?

Hi Aravisian, haven't tried that - in that other OS (Windows 7) at the moment updating Affinity Software Applications (Designer, Photo, Publisher). ;)

OK, should just add that for the time being I am using the Super key to launch Overview instead of Menu.

Thank you, Aravisian, I found "Always Zoom Workspaces," which does exactly what I wanted!
