[SOLVED] Zorin OS 15 ultimate crashes in normal mode in GUI

Hello,
I have installed Zorin OS 15 ultimate and I have a Problem. The Problem occurred already on the Live-System but I thought, maybe this can happen(I had this before on different linux systems, as soon as they were installed, everything was fine). So I installed in the safe mode. Everything was installed correctly as far I can see. The Installer didn't recognize my Windows 10 installation, so I did the partitioning by myself. After the install (and changing of the boot-order) the system started normally. As soon as I get into the normal Login Mask, the system crashes randomly. It crashes immediately if I login. If I switch to the console (str + alt + F1) the system is stable. If I restart the System and choose the recovery mode and choose "resume" (no repair or so) the system starts just fine but without the graphics driver ( that is what I think the recovery mode does in addition ). Then the GUI is stable and I can update and stuff. But as soon as I restart into normal Mode, the System crashes again.

8. I did tested it, it only worked without problems on the safe mode. By the way it was from USB.

Hey,
I found the solution. I was already heading into the right direction, your post encourage me to investigate further. I registered on this website you suggested, but I didn't understand how to understand it.

So the solution was to add parameters to the gub loader. In my case the following parameters where needed:
"radeon.cik_support=0 amdgpu.cik_support=1 amdgpu.dc=1"

I added them with the command:

Code: Select all
sudo gedit /etc/default/grub


And updated the Grub(2?)-Bootloader with:

Code: Select all
sudo update-grub
