Anyone else ever use Plop to create a bootable USB for a computer that's BIOS won't let you boot from USB?

Yes. In the past I had to use the floppy disk version to install Wolvix on a Toshiba Satellite that only had 128 MB RAM (96 Mb only available as the rest use for graphics) - a long long time ago! :D
And that was to enable it to boot from CD.

Same here after mdiemer put me onto it.

Actually I could boot from USB but only USB 1 so very slow. I installed a USB 3 add in card, used PLOP on first USB to find the USB 3 .iso really speed things up, especially as it was the old test rig and a lot of testing at the time.
