Help downloading and installing tar files

Postby ozstar » Wed Jan 15, 2020 2:16 am

Hi,

I am downloading several compressed files, tar, gzip, bzip and the rest of them
to my Download folder but not sure then what to do with them so they install.

What is the easiest format here to d'load and install the programs etc.

Thanks

Generally, .deb files are the easiest. With the tar files, it's a little more complicated and missing dependencies can be a headache.
