[SOLVED] System freezes after reopening the lid

I have Zorin OS Lite 15 on my laptop and I have set that when I close the lid the screen turns off, but when I open it the open windows show again and the cursor seems to work but I can't actually click on anything or give any keyboard input, then the cursor disappears forcing me to shut down the computer by holding the power button. How do I fix this?

But I don't want it to suspend...

OK, Go into Menu | Settings | Power Manager.

1.

- Change Power Button Settings from Suspend to Shutdown.


2.

- the System Sleep Mode cannot be changed but the timing can - increase it so that suspend does not take place unitl over 5 hours - move that slider to far right and uncheck "Lock screen when going to sleep"

3.

- Display Power Management - change all available settings to never, then turn off.

4.

- Turn off "Activate Screensaver when idle."

5.

- Disable Lock Screen - AFTER turning off "Lock Screen with Screensaver."
