new computer - using SSD - but NO UEFI partition?

I just set up a new computer with UEFI - ASUS - the Windows ssd shows up as uefi, and the SSD with Zorin has no uefi. Checking the file /sys/firmware - there is no efi...

Installing Zorin has no swap file and efi boot...

Can this be 'un' done and fix without redoing the who ssd? It is working fine, but I feel like I am missing something.

Thanks for the help, in advance

Take a look here: https://unix.stackexchange.com/question ... windows-10

also, did you format to Ext2? Ext3 and Ext4 file systems are journaling systems shortening the life of your drive.

I would have used rEFInd for setting up Zorin too:

You need to manually set up TRIM to (Windows does this automatically):

(That's why I stay clear of SSD's ;) :D )

Well... backed up with aptik... redid the ssd/drive - made a small efi partition and used / for btrfs and made a small swap.. Seems to be working ok - but the weird thing is now... the bios sees TWO efi partitions - one to EFI and one as ubuntu... but it is working. Black magic, it seems, for adding extra drives to the bios.

Yes, it went wrong for me with Zorin 15 Core - I created a BIOS GRUB in the installer and it ended up with a GRUB menu in EFI but no entry for Zorin. I had to mess around to remove this in the boot order! :D
