Mactel not supported any more?

I just installed Zorin 15 on an old macbook (2008). There is an repository (mactel) that supports a lot of the mac hardware such as fan control, power lights etc, but it doesn't appear to be supported any more. The laptop fan is consequently at 100% all the time and power lights, and hibernate aren't working right. When doing a software update I get the following message. When I try to install via command line I also get informed about this message. Any ideas how I can get this (or individual packages that made up mactel) work? It used to be so easy to convert old macs to linux with mactel, now is a struggle. Thanks

E:The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/mactel-support/ppa/ubuntu bionic Release' does not have a Release file.
