Look Changer

Recently installed Zorin 5.2 and everything seems to be working OK except the look changer which appears to have a mind of its own.
I permanently use the Windows GUI but occasionally it decides on boot up to give me Gnome with the windows manager on the top
left hand corner. Is there any remedy for this? Thanks.

As wolfman will probably suggest, reboot, choose the recovery mode and run dpkg to rectify broken packages (if any).
