swap partion

Postby dustinandson » Sun Jun 26, 2011 12:15 pm

I thought I created it but I don't know if I did it right, and the gparted I have no idea how that was suppose to work or when or where to push alt + f2 I burnt a bootable gparted disc but don't know if what I did there was right let alone what I could or should do with that.

the swap was suppose to be logical or primary? think i did logical

then what partition do I pick for install of os?

the os is up and running and it'll crash every now and then I think I may have done something wrong but I'm still willing to start over.

You can go to the System Monitor in Control Center and it will list if you have a Swap Partition and how large it is, whether it is primary or logical I do not think that matters as long as it was set as a swap partition to begin with. As far as it 'crashing' I think that has to do with the gnomenu app. This is the issue, while Linux may be 'stable' applications created for it are questionable it seems.
