Hibernation / Suspension Failure - MacBook

Thank-you for taking time to attempt to help me. I have a MacBook 3.1 (Late '07) running Zorin OS 5. When I first installed Zorin, it ran fine, I was very happy with it. The only differenc between now and then is, the laptop didn't have a working battery. I had to run it off of a charger at all time. Now, I have a new battery, and a few deal changers have occured. Since I have installed the new battery, Hibernating and Suspending have quit oworking properly. When attempting to do either, I get an un-usable text prompt (like a DOS prompt or Terminal) then to use my computer I have to manually reboot by holding the power button, thus loseing any unsaved work. It is irritable, and bluntly not something I can work with. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi SP,

I am not really sure where you should start with this as it seems to be a hardware related thing!!, a quick and simple solution is to simply re-install Zorin again, you don't have to format your /home partition which will keep all your files and settings; however you will have to re-install any software packages you have installed in the meantime.

Maybe someone has a quick fix for you, if you don't want to wait for an answer, try what I suggest!!.

Sorry I cannot be of more help :(.
