How to configure wireless on any GNU/Linux

The link to wifi-radar is dead but you can either download it from here:

or from within Synaptic Package Manager which holds the latest version and saves converting .rpm based software which the sourceforge one contains:

You have to launch it via the terminal:

sudo wifi-radar


Once launched it will give some errors and no log but it does work - just close the error message dialog/ue. You should see a wifi-radar icon appear on the panel - now right-click and 'add to favourites' so you don't have to use the terminal - you will need to provide your login password at launch as it is a system tool.
