gksu replacement for Zorin 15

Hi,

Have recently found out that gksu which you would normally use to edit a system file with root privileges is no longer present in Ubuntu 18.04 and therefore Zorin 15 on its release. Read what you have to do here:

https://www.linuxuprising.com/2018/04/g ... heres.html

which is what I needed to do to see if I could add the scanner element to Simple Scan/Xsane:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SANE% ... o-detected

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Setti ... ermissions

But I got nowhere fast - in particular the user permissions element - everything seems to be well buried these days! :?

for the uninitiated:
SANE stands for 'Scanner Access Now Easy'.

Which is anything but - pity scangearmp didn't roll over to scangearmp2 - scangearmp from Canon gave much the same interface as Windows users!
