[STICKY] Zorin 9 and Skype!!!

Postby Swarfendor437 » Sat Dec 27, 2014 5:54 pm

Hi everyone, the command line option does not appear to work now that Skype for Linux is at 4.3!!

1. If you have Zorin 9 Ultimate edition (can't remember if Skype is in Free/Standard version) first do this after opening a terminal:

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get purge skype && sudo apt-get purge skyp-bin:i386

2. Then go here to download the Ubuntu 12.04 multiarch .deb file:

http://www.skype.com/en/download-skype/ ... -computer/

3. Once downloaded, open with 'Software Center/re' or you may want to install 'gdebi' and use that (which is what I did on fresh install of Zorin 9 Ultimate 64-bit:

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install gdebi

Enjoy! :D
