Will there be a Zorin 7 based on 12.10?

If so, when will that be?

I tried Ubuntu 12.10. Looks very good and runs fast on my netbook without unexpected stops.

I don't think there will be a Zorin7 (at least not for the time being) but I suspect that zorin6 will adopt kernel 3.5.0 (the kernel od 12.10) ! (because ubuntu 12.04 will do so as well).
Lets hope!

Is there information here on the forum about this kernel upgrade?

It's not yet officially released by Canonical. Presently you can download and install the Alpha3 edition. I think that it will be ready 100% sometime in September or October.
You can download ubuntu 12.10 and install it on a live cd/usb and load it on your PC to try it out and see if everything works fine.

Otherwise you can open your software sources, go to updates and tick the box that says "pre-released updates".
Then check for updates and you will see the new kernel for installation. Although I would not recommend that you install it as it is not 100% ready yet. The choice is yours.

And one other note. I noticed today that the ubunutu release I am using after the last updates is 12.04.1. (!)

Zorin 7 (I suspect) will be the next LTS release in line with Ubuntus - 6.1 = 12.10 - not LTS.

thank you

The next logical thing that would make since would be Ubuntu 13.04>>>Zorin OS 6.2!!!!

But later the freezes where there again. :(

So will wait for Zorin based on 12.10 and will go back to Mint 14 Cinnamon.
