Hey, this was my first run with Linux. I was using the option try without installing and decided i liked the OS well enough to use it as my main.

So I went ahead and clicked the install Zorin OS icon on the desktop..
It ran through just fine until it threw up the error
ubi-partman exit code 10.

my options there were
'try again'
'quit'
'install anyway'

i clicked install again, which brought up the same error.
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi

it will help if you give us brand/type nbr of your laptop and version of Zorin you want to install 12.4 - light - core - ultimate
you are not trying to install a dual boot (windows-linux?)

your error is linked to repartition click the install option 'something else' to get access to partitions on your machine

an excellent manual is written by Swarfendor437 under viewforum.php?f=6

eventual do undernoted
on 'try Zorin' go to Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+t) and type if
Code:
sudo fdisk -l

and revert with outcome

thanks

It can occur on various releases of Ubuntu and already found an article and a thread pointing to 'no dmraid':

https://nixsos.com/ubi-partman-failed-w ... -10-error/

It would also help if you gave an indication as to which OS you are replacing and if you cleared everything off after backing up your critical data - not enough space can cause the issue too. For best results you should do a manual install. :) :D
